Internet censorship in Australia

/

Senator Stephen Conroy plans on censoring all internet in Australia, in the interests of child protection. Some points that were made after I recorded this video… Sen Conroy refers often to other countries that already have ISP censorship in place. Where the proposed Australian censorship differs is that no other countries have mandatory censorship, and the govt doesn’t control what is and isn’t censored. 1. Conroy wants to follow in the footsteps of Michael Atkinson. Its disgusting the amount of power this government has. All i have seen Rudd Do is Say Sorry and censor. very good video man mature and valid thanks.

  2. Excellent video, it took four letters both to my local member and to senator Conroy before I got an answer and it was a pathetic answer, I find this filter offensive in the extreme, it’s called the World Wide Web, not the Australian Wide Web, I will never vote Labor again and I still send a letter a week to my local member and senator Conroy telling them I don’t want this filter…

  3. “Lets save the kiddies” once again, No internet filter is gonna work and there shouldn’t be one in a free country,Parents when are you gonna start PARENTING your kids instead of letting the government try do it for you!
Worried about kids and porn? Simple, put the computer in the family room where its viewable by all instead of their bedroom,When they are old enough for their own privacy they can have it back in their bedrooms! How hard is it for crying out loud.

  4. I can’t seem to post the link for the petition, if you go to stunned mullets dott com there is a option that will take you to the australians against internet censorship section.

  5. print it off, sign it and send it to the postal address provided, if you can get additional signatures from friends, family, at school, work etc this will help strengthen our position in refuting censorship.
    Thanks for reading, Melissa 🙂

  6. Hi Everyone!! The official paper petition has done really well in collecting 16,000 signatures to date!!
However our goal is 20,000 signatures – due to the impact and weight it will hold in parliament against the petition with 20,000 signatures that kicked off the legislation to censor the internet last year. We really need to match this before we table it, however time is also of the essence here..
